The Central and Eastern Europe-Hunan Xiangjiang New Area Science and Economic Trade Cooperation Conference was held at the Headquarter of Changsha National Offshore Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base for Overseas Professionals on May 30. A delegation of experts and scholars from institutions such as Eötvös Loránd University, the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, and the Budapest University of Technology and Economics engaged in in-depth exchanges with representatives from universities, research institutions, and enterprises in Hunan Province, focusing on fields such as artificial intelligence, space technology, and biomedicine.

At the conference, Dr. Tamás Kozsik, dean of the Faculty of Informatics at Eötvös Loránd University; Dr. Denitsa Borisova, an expert from the Space Research and Technology Institute at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences; Dr. Kristóf Csorba, an expert from the Department of Artificial Intelligence at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics; and Dr. Mészáros Tamás Csaba, chief AI architect of E-Group Software Technology Hi-tech Group, shared cutting-edge achievements in areas such as spatial remote sensing technology, AI algorithm research, and industrial software development.
Representatives from domestic universities and enterprises, including the Central South University, Speedbot, HNAC Technology, and Hunan Xiangjiang Fund Town Investment Management Co., Ltd., presented their innovative results and collaboration needs based on their practical experiences in research platforms, robotics technology, and new energy equipment. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as technology transfer, joint R&D, and talent exchange.
In the afternoon, the delegation visited the Achievement Report Hall of the Xiangjiang Laboratory, exploring the exhibition hall in Xiangjiang Building and key laboratories in the Science and Technology Building. They gained detailed insights into the laboratory's innovative products in AI large models, embodied intelligent service robots, and biological intelligent manufacturing. From May 29 to 30, the delegation visited the Hunan Xiangjiang New Area Planning Exhibition Hall, Sansure Biotech, and Hunan University's Institute for Semiconductor Technology and Application Innovation. They gained a thorough understanding of the New Area's development in biomedicine, aerospace technology, semiconductors, and other industries, and widely praised Changsha's innovative vitality and industrial strength.
Co-hosted by the Changsha Association for Science and Technology and Hunan Xiangjiang New Area Commerce and Market Supervision Bureau, the event aimed to establish an international dialogue platform to deepen exchanges between the Central and Eastern European countries and the Hunan Xiangjiang New Area in the fields of science, technology, and trade, laying the groundwork for future broad-based cooperation.
